The Secret, The Significant, The Successful: Profiles of Women-led Businesses.....

If you've been reading this newsletter for a while, you know that I talk all the time about how much my mother has inspired my business trajectory and my enduring passion for financial education and economic equality......

Because of that, I feel a special connection to Davida Anderson, who is currently running the early childhood learning center started by her grandmother. Watch the video above to hear her discuss what it's like to be a third-generation educator and how EnrichHER's All Rise Factory is helping her win.

LifeChangers Academy, which is based in Nebraska, opened its first early childhood learning center in 2003, with just three children enrolled in its first month of business. By the end of the first fiscal year, LifeChangers had successfully reached its state-licensed capacity of 55 students, so Founder & President Davida Anderson began formulating ideas to take her faith-based business to the next level. Through a fundamental commitment to excellent care and service, the original academy in Omaha obtained the adjacent building and doubled its capacity within two years of opening.

In their first year of business, LifeChangers grossed $330K. In 2019, the company grossed $1.3M. To keep up with demand, they recently purchased a new building in June 2020. They plan to use their EnrichHER capital to renovate the new facility and furnish offices for their franchise head office. In addition, they will use the funding to implement programs, create marketing systems for their franchisees, and train staff.

LifeChangers Academy serves children, from 6 weeks old to 13 years old, leveraging Anderson’s 25+ years of experience in child development. She is part of the third generation of educators in her family and earned a degree in elementary and early childhood education. Anderson developed the LifeChangers approach, which focuses on nurturing emotional skills, social skills, communication skills, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, cognitive skills, and spiritual empowerment. The faith-based learning centers segment their program by age: Incredible Infants (6 weeks to 18 months old), Terrific Toddlers (18 months to 3 years old), Prized Preschool (3 to 5 years old), Substantial School Age (5 to 12 years old), and Soaring Summer (5 years to 13 years old).

In 2020, Anderson created a mentorship program, called GOTT L.E.A.P. (Global Opportunities Technology Trends LIfeChangers Emergent After school Program) for girls, who are in 1st to 8th grade who are interested in science, technology, engineering, art, and math.

Creating the STEAM program reflects Anderson’s belief that “we are in this world to be a doer of good deeds. It’s not about what we receive but rather what we give. We are bound to a higher purpose of life, and we do the right thing by making the right choices and making our actions speak louder than words.”
